Fabrizio Romano: Everton in advanced talks to sign Max Aarons
Everton are in the best position to sign Norwich defender Max Aarons according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano, who often appears on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk, says the Toffees are in advanced talks to sign the 21-year-old.
West Ham have recently been linked to Aarons by The Independent but Everton’s negotiations, which began in February, are believed to be progressing and the club hopes to strike a deal soon.
Romano also confirmed Aarons will leave Norwich in the summer after The Independent claimed the right-back was promised a move after staying on last season.
Ben Godfrey 2.0
Aarons is a huge prospect and we would welcome him with open arms at Goodison Park.
His former teammate Ben Godfrey has been a massive success since signing and we are excited by the prospect of the pair linking up once more.
Seamus Coleman is entering the final stages of his career and our need for a right-back has been clear for some time.
Aarons is the perfect solution as he has impressed in his short career and has years ahead of him to develop into a top-class full-back.
He has also been called “outstanding” by both Daniel Farke [Breaking The Lines] and Aidy Boothroyd [Pink Un] – the only two managers he has played under.
That says a lot about his talent, with Boothroyd also suggesting Aarons gives “100 percent in training and matches”.
We could benefit from that hard work and Aarons’ desire to get forward.
His average of 1.4 dribbles per game in his career [WhoScored] means he could provide a threat from deep on the right-flank – just as Lucas Digne does from left-back.
We are happy to hear talks are progressing and are hopeful of getting the deal over the line soon.
In other Everton news, the Toffees want two players in a mega-money swap deal and Ancelotti is ready to give the green light.
