Everton to face competition from Roma for Aarons signature
Everton could face competition for Norwich defender Max Aarons this summer, with Mail Online reporting that Roma could reignite interest.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier this week that the Blues are in advanced negotiations to sign the young right-back, with Aarons expected to leave Carrow Road this summer.
Everton are keen to find a new right-back ahead of the upcoming campaign with Seamus Coleman needing support and with Jonjoe Kenny expected to leave Goodison Park.
Mail Online now report while Norwich aren’t keen on allowing Aarons to leave this summer, they would be willing to sell him if he wished to leave and if the right offer was made.
The report also states that Roma had made an unsuccessful offer for Aarons’ services in January and that they are expected to return with further interest at the end of the season, though Aarons would prefer a move to Merseyside.
Described by Norwich manager Daniel Farke as “outstanding“, the Canaries value their prized asset at around £30million ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Move swiftly
Everton have long held an interest in Aarons it seems, and both Marcel Brands and Carlo Ancelotti have come to the conclusion that he would be the ideal candidate to bring to Goodison Park this summer.
Seamus Coleman has shown that he has plenty still to give in recent weeks but he won’t be around forever, and Everton need someone who can suitably challenge the Irishman and provide him with support.
Aarons has been a regular for Norwich since he was a teenager, and now at 21-years old and with a long and potentially successful career ahead of him, Everton could find that signing Aarons since summer would be a wise short-term and long-term investment.
The Toffees are seemingly hung up on the price, but with other clubs circling the obvious talent it would benefit the club to bite the bullet and quickly seal the deal. Aarons appears to be the right man, so Everton should hurry up and make their move.
In other Everton news, the Toffees want to sign a Ligue 1 midfielder who is admired by a former Everton star.
