Kevin Campbell believes Kean won’t get game time with Everton
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell doesn’t believe Moise Kean would receive much game time if he was to return to Everton this summer.
The Italian striker has enjoyed a fruitful season on loan with Paris Saint-Germain, having played 35 times in all competitions during his time in the French capital.
Having scored 16 goals across all competitions too, the 21-year old has seen his stock rise considerably this season, with Juventus and PSG both now said to be keen on a permanent transfer.
Carlo Ancelotti has remained coy on Kean’s future, refusing to rule out a sale in the summer but also refusing to concede that the forward will leave the club.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News however, Kevin Campbell believes that an exit for Kean would be the best move for all parties. Campbell said: “I think he’s going to want to stay at PSG.
“He’s hit the ground running out there, he seems to enjoy it, and you can see the weight of the world is off his shoulders.
“Will he get game time at Everton? Nobody knows. [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin has been very good, Richarlison has been good, can you see him getting game time?
“I can’t see him getting the game time he’s getting with PSG at Everton, so it might be best for all parties if Everton to cash in.”
PSG legend Pauleta has described Kean as ‘important‘ to PSG this season, indicating just how influential the Italian has proven to be for the Parisians.
Kean, who’s reportedly valued at £43million [Fabrizio Romano], never settled on Merseyside and it never looked like he was going to be able to adjust to the physical demands of the Premier League.
Given how well he has adapted to life in France it does seem unlikely that he’ll elect to return to Goodison Park instead of remaining at the Parc des Princes on a permanent basis.
In other Everton news, the Toffees want to sign a Ligue 1 midfielder who is admired by a former Everton star.
