Everton join Premier League trio in scouting Moumi Ngamaleu
Everton are one of several Premier League clubs to have scouted Young Boys winger Moumi Ngamaleu this season, according to TeamTalk.
The Blues are keen to add a winger to their squad this summer, with the current squad lacking pace and depth in wide positions.
The 26-year old has also been watched by Leeds, Brighton, Leicester and Scottish Premiership champions Rangers this season, all of whom could potentially move for him when the transfer window opens.
Carlo Ancelotti recently admitted that he could look to make “two or three” marquee signings this summer, with the Italian coach hoping to lead Everton into Europe.
The Toffees wish to become a force before they move into their soon-to-be constructed Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium in a few years time, and Ancelotti has been tasked with spearheading that change.
Cameroon international Ngamaleu could find himself the next step in Ancelotti’s plan if Everton decide to shore up interest when the window opens this summer.
Another option
Playing primarily on the left for Young Boys but also capable of lining up on the right, Ngamaleu could prove to be the versatile dynamic forward that Everton are missing.
For as strong as James Rodriguez has been for the Toffees this season, the Colombian playmaker is better suited to playing in the middle for the club, not on the right like he has so often been tasked with doing.
With Andre Gomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Rodriguez often lining up in midfield for Everton, the club severely lack pace when they break forward, and adding a winger with positive energy and speed could improve Everton’s attacking movement.
Valued at just £3.42million by Transfermarkt, the Cameroonian forward could represent a steal for Everton if they are to sign him for a fee even close to that figure, though with other clubs interested it is fair to assume that the price tag could increase.
Though Ngamaleu isn’t a high profile name he does fit the profile for what Marcel Brands wants from a summer signing, and with the Dutchman’s track record in the transfer market we’d be on board if he decided to pursue the Young Boys star.
