Everton offered chance to sign Juventus midfielder Rabiot

Juventus have offered midfielder Adrien Rabiot to both Everton and Barcelona as they seek buyers for the player, according to a source in Italy.

The Italian giants are keen to reduce their wage bill as they prepare for a summer rebuild and Rabiot has been deemed surplus to requirements in Turin.

Everton have been repeatedly linked with a move for Rabiot over the past few months, with the Blues now presented with the opportunity to sign the Frenchman.

CalcioMercato claim that, despite Rabiot’s constant presence for Juventus this season, the Italian club aren’t afraid to part with the former Paris Saint-Germain man this summer.

Juventus have been linked with an interest in former star forward and current Everton man Moise Kean this summer, and allowing Rabiot to leave would help them fund a move for the Italy international.

Having signed Rabiot on a free transfer from PSG in 2019, Juve could also be tempted by the idea of making a sizeable profit on the 26-year old.

More and more interest

There has been so much discussion concerning Everton’s supposed interest in Adrien Rabiot that if a move doesn’t happen at this point we’ll end up being disappointed.

Rabiot would certainly deepen the depth that Everton currently have in midfield, and with Jean-Philippe Gbamin currently out injured and with Fabian Delph’s future unclear, Rabiot would bring additional pedigree to Carlo Ancelotti’s options.

It does seem strange that Juventus would be so willing to lose Rabiot considering how often he has played for Andrea Pirlo’s side this season, especially with Pirlo labelling him “the complete player“, but if Juve wish to move him on then Goodison Park could serve as a good a place as any for him to come.

Ultimately it depends on what Ancelotti wants to do, having previously played it coy on the subject of signing a midfielder. However the Italian dismissed the idea because he claimed Gbamin didn’t need replacing, though Rabiot doesn’t have to be seen as the Ivorian’s replacement.

Rabiot would bring pedigree and experience, not to mention squad depth, and he could prove to be valuable business if Everton decide to take Juventus up on their offer.
