Everton enquire about Fiorentina goalkeeper Dragowski

Everton are one of three Premier League clubs to have enquired about Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski, according to an Italian journalist.

The 23-year old shot-stopper has played every game in Serie A for La Viola this season, attracting interest from around Europe.

Journalist Nicolo Schira shared on Twitter that Everton, as well as Tottenham and West Ham, have asked for information on Dragoswki, while Borussia Dortmund are also believed to be keen too.

Dragowski’s contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi expires in 2023, though Fiorentina are hopeful that they will be able to tie the goalkeeper down until 2025.

The Poland international has been valued at £17.3million (€20million) by Fiorentina president Rocco B. Commisso, which could pique Everton’s interest.

The Blues were linked with a move for the goalkeeper last season, and with Robin Olsen’s future unclear he could be seen as an alternative signing this summer.

Dragowski has been in great form this season with one standout stop against Inter Milan dubbed a “stunning save” on the official Serie A YouTube channel.

Viable option

With Robin Olsen’s future at Everton thrown into uncertainty last month, it stands to reason that the club would be considering other targets, even in spite of Ancelotti’s stance on Olsen’s permanent move.

As a regular in the Italian top flight, Dragowski could jostle with and challenge Jordan Pickford for the starting spot at Goodison Park, while at just 23-years old he could be a long-term investment too.

Dragowski has been watched by clubs across Europe since he made his first-team debut for La Viola at age 19, and Everton could find that because of this he becomes a more difficult target to land this summer.

Borussia Dortmund’s interest alone stands to validate his pedigree, but it also makes negotiation difficult for the Toffees if a club so renowned for developing young players at the highest level join the race.

Everton need to secure their back-up goalkeeper ahead of next season, and hopefully Dragowski’s name will remain in the mix.
