Everton join race to sign Sergio Aguero

Everton want to sign Sergio Aguero when he becomes available on a free transfer in the summer, per the Daily Star.

There are several clubs interested in the 32-year-old, including Chelsea, Tottenham and Barcelona.

The Argentine reportedly earns £240,000 a week at City and it is believed the Toffees will be unable to match that salary.

But to overcome that hurdle Everton are reportedly planning to offer Aguero a big signing on fee to make up for the reduction in wages.

High demand

Some of the biggest clubs in Europe will be chasing Aguero over the next couple of months so it would be amazing if Everton managed to land his signature.

He has spent a good while out injured but he was back with a bang as he scored against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Aguero has not lost his finishing touch and he would not be out of place at Barcelona due to the quality he still possesses.

It will be difficult for us to entice him to Goodison Park therefore, and hopefully a big signing on fee will appeal to the striker.

His experience would be massive for us and he is exactly the type of player who would be able to find a goal against teams like Aston Villa and Fulham, who have beaten us at home this season.

Aguero is the highest-scoring foreign player in the Premier League and he also has the most hattricks ever in the division.

Even Thierry Henry has applauded the record-breaker, calling him “world-class” on an episode of Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, as did Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel more recently [The Mirror].

He would be a brilliant signing and we hope Marcel Brands pulls out all the stops to bring him to Merseyside.
