Everton target Hwang to hold future talks with RB Leipzig this summer
RB Leipzig forward and reported Everton target Hee-chan Hwang has suggested that he will hold future talks with the club in the summer.
Sport1 claimed last week that the Blues, as well as West Ham, had registered an interest in the 25-year old attacker.
The report claimed that Hwang is unhappy at Leipzig after having made just one league start since signing for the club last summer, with Everton able to buy him for around £13million (€15million).
Sport1 also claimed that Everton were in talks to sign the South Korea international in January though manager Julian Nagelsmann vetoed the move, however the German coach will soon leave Leipzig to take up the Bayern Munich job in the summer.
Speaking to German outlet Kicker, Hwang suggested that he would hold talks with the club and soon-to-be Leipzig boss Jesse Marsch following the end of the season.
Hwang said: “In the summer we will definitely talk to each other, the club, our new coach and I.
“The fact that Jesse Marsch already knows me very well is certainly not a disadvantage.
“He’s clever and has a lot of energy, we worked really well together last season [at Red Bull Salzburg]. We’ll see how he and the leadership plan.”

Everton’s chances at signing Hee-chan Hwang may improve if the player does seek exit talks this summer, though the club need to do more to present themselves as an attractive prospect.
The Toffees are a big club with a hugely respected and admired manager in the dugout, but European football isn’t yet a certainty, and with other clubs also keen on Hwang his signing could prove difficult.
Described as an “exceptional” talent who possess “brutal dynamism”, Hwang would bolster Everton’s forward options which are very much in need of strengthening.
Josh King is almost certain to leave Goodison Park when his contract with the club expires this summer, while Moise Kean’s long-term future is unclear. That leaves just Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun, the latter of whom is out of favour, and is currently suffering from a severe long-term injury with no return date in sight.
If Everton are to continue challenging and hopefully, in the future, compete with the bigger clubs, being able to attract talent like Hwang must be considered the natural next step.
