Report: Everton willing to shell out £21m for Gleison Bremer

Everton are reportedly keen on shelling out €25m (£21m) to sign Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer this summer.

According to Pianeta Milan, a sister site of La Gazetta Dello Sport, the Brazilian is also subject to transfer interest from Liverpool and AC Milan.

Both the 2004 UEFA Champions League finalists have been keen on signing the player for the last few months and could solidify their interest this summer.

Milan have seen him as a long-term replacement for captain Alessio Romagnoli should be sold. They could also pursue him in case they’re unable to sign Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomoroi on a permanent basis.

Reports from Italy are also suggesting that he could be lined up as a replacement for Milan Skriniar, should he leave Inter Millan, making Bremer one of the most sought-after defenders in Italy.

In November, Tuttosport (h/t Football Italia) reported that the player was ‘flattered’ when he learned of the fact that Carlo Ancelotti admires him, and was open to playing for his side.

Mina replacement?

We’ve shown signs of improvement this season under Ancelotti, but our defence continues to remain our Achilles heel.

If we are to legitimise claims of being a top-six side, we have to straighten in defence, and Bremer could be one of the players that could help us do that.

There are links to Kalidou Koulibaly but we’re not sure whether that is happening, and in case it doesn’t the 24-year-old could be a younger option we could look at.

Per Wyscout’s data, he boasts an immaculate pass accuracy of 88 percent along with averaging 7.29 interceptions and winning 16.34 duels per 90 minutes.

He’s also known to be a threat in both boxes, scoring an impressive four goals this season and averaging over five aerial duels won per game.

Yerry Mina has also been tipped to move this summer amid interest from European sides. The Colombian has not been the most consistent of players at the back, and we wouldn’t mind letting go of him to sign Bremer.
