Sky Sports pundit predicts score of Everton v Sheffield United

Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones has predicted a comfortable 2-0 victory for Everton in their game against Sheffield United.

The Toffees know they’re still in with a very good chance of a top-six finish and have a mouth-watering fixture to look forward to this gameweek – a home game against Sheffield United.

While Everton have struggled at home of late, the Blades’ struggles are far more dire as they look destined to stay in the Championship for a bit unless things dramatically change in the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men should and will be backing themselves to pick up three points, and so is Jones.

In his Sky Sports column, he wrote, “The way Sheffield United played in their 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, who have effectively put their cue on the rack for the season was an insult to what Chris Wilder had built at the club. It could be a long road back to the big time for the Blades.

“Their toothless football shouldn’t give an Everton defence that have shut out West Ham, Aston Villa and Arsenal in the past three weeks too much to sweat about.”

Let’s get the job done

Us getting good results against big teams only to drop points against ones below us has been the story of our season thus far.

We’re hoping it doesn’t continue as this Everton undoubtedly have it in them to pile on to the misery of Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

James Rodriguez’s probable absence shouldn’t bother us too much as we’ve got Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring regularly while we’ve seen impressive performances from the likes of Seamus Coleman, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Our defence has been our Achilles heel, but Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane will have to be ready to fight out against David McGoldrick and Oliver Burke.

If other results go our way, we could end the gameweek in sixth – the spot that gives us Europa League football.

West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur are both dropping points, just like we are, so it’s important that we get our act together and pick up nine points from our remaining three games.
