Michael Dawson gushes over ‘unbelievable’ Sigurdsson v Wolves

Michael Dawson raved about Gylfi Sigurdsson after the midfielder impressed for Everton against Wolves.

The Iceland international produced a superb ball from a corner to set up Richarlison’s header, with the Brazilian also leaping well to meet the cross.

Dawson played with Sigurdsson at Tottenham so is well aware of his ability, and he had nothing but praise for his former teammate.

Appearing as a pundit on BBC 5 Live’s coverage of the match, Dawson said, “All the speed is on the ball from Gylfi Sigurdsson, I spoke about him, I’ve worked with him and played with him.

“This boy just practices time after time, unbelievable delivery.

“His delivery was sensational.”

Moment of class

Everton were second best against Wolves for large spells but once we scored we took control of the match.

Sigurdsson is getting all the credit and rightly so, as he produced a superb bit of quality from the corner.

Wolves, by contrast, failed to produce a chance from their 12 corners, and that shows how big a difference Sigurdsson can be for us.

The unfortunate fact is that we have not seen the 31-year-old at his best consistently this term, and that is partly why we have struggled so much at home.

We cannot knock his performance against Wolves, though, as he recorded three key passes in total, per SofaScore.

He also showed incredible technique to almost double our lead, with two late second-half strikes going just wide.
