Everton confirmed XI vs Manchester City
Everton have made two changes to their starting XI for their final Premier League game of the season against Manchester City this afternoon.
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in his recent pre-match press conference that Seamus Coleman and James Rodriguez would miss the game at the Etihad.
Tom Davies and Mason Holgate have both come into the line-up, replacing Coleman and 26-year-old Yerry Mina, who Ancelotti hadn’t previously declared as someone who would miss the game.
Final opportunity
Everton have one final chance to qualify for Europe against Manchester City, and though it will ultimately come down to how the teams around them perform the Blues still need to get a result against the recently crowned champions.
It will undeniably prove difficult, with Pep Guardiola’s side gearing up for their upcoming Champions League final against Chelsea, and they’re going to want to build up some momentum before that game.
Everton are missing James Rodriguez for the fifth time in the club’s last six games which will obviously be a blow, however Ancelotti will hope that his other players can compensate for the lack of James’ creativity on the ball.
The Toffees have performed marvellously away from home this season, especially against the larger club, so beating Man City wouldn’t be a huge surprise. However no team possesses the quality that City does, so it won’t be easy regardless of who they put out.
Ultimately we want to see the club end the season with a strong performance. Result or not, let’s hope that we see the players really give their all.
