Everton legend Peter Reid responds to controversial James Rodriguez tweet
James Rodriguez has caused uproar among Everton fans by posting an image of himself on a bed on a private plane.
The Colombia international missed the game against Wolves earlier this week due to “fatigue” [Sky Sports] and it seems as though he won’t be playing against Manchester City on Sunday in the final game of the season.
Rodriguez’s tweet is ill-thought and simply doesn’t look good and understandable, Evertonians are furious with the supposed lack of drive for him to play for the club.
Everton legend Peter Reid – someone who knows all about giving 110 per cent commitment for the Toffees – has joined in replying to Rodriguez, simply posting a shrugging emoji on his personal Twitter account.
Have a word, Reidy
If Rodriguez wants to be a success at Everton then he’s going about it completely the wrong way.
The 29-year-old started his debut season at Goodison brilliantly but the former Real Madrid playmaker’s form has waned.
He’s also had a number of injury issues and played just 23 times in total in the Premier League this season, scoring six goals and supplying five assists in the process.
Rodriguez is clearly one of the most talented players in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad but his attitude stinks.
How can someone who’s played just one of the last five matches be suffering with fatigue? We get that he’s had his injuries but players come back from setbacks all the time.
Rodriguez seems to think he knows he doesn’t have to try – he knows he’s the best player at the club.
But this tweet is just ill-thought and simply looks awful.
In other Everton news, this attacker wants to quit Goodison Park in the summer and two clubs are interested in him.
