Everton keep tabs on Nantes forward Muani as Kean gets exit green light

Everton are reportedly keeping tabs on Nantes forward Randal Kolo Muani this summer, paving the way for Moise Kean to leave Goodison Park permanently.

The Italy international appears destined to leave the Blues this summer following his season-long loan with Paris Saint-Germain, with the Ligue 1 club believed to be keen on signing him on a permanent basis.

Everton could also see Josh King leave the club following the expiry of his short-term contract this summer, meaning that Carlo Ancelotti could target another forward, despite his recent claims.

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna on Twitter, Everton have checked several names as they look to strengthen their attack this summer, with Muani included in that list.

Furthermore Aouna reports that the Toffees have opened the door for Kean’s departure with discussions supposedly having already begun between all involved parties.

Kean joined Everton for £25.1million from Juventus in 2019, though they would expect around £45million in order to sanction his sale this summer.

Valuable option

Having scored nine goals and assisted a further eight in Ligue 1 for Nantes this season, Muani could bring an additional goal threat to Ancelotti’s squad.

At just 22-years old the forward would fit within the parameters of what Marcel Brands is looking for this summer, and he would certainly add depth to a squad that is bereft of it.

This season was a difficult one for many clubs, not just Everton, with illness and injury striking down many players over the course of the campaign. The Blues suffered severely not that long ago, and having little depth didn’t help their plight.

Should Muani become available for a respectable price then Everton should look to take advantage, because it’s vital for the club’s long-term future that they continue to build and strengthen under Ancelotti.

Muani could contribute next season and he could also represent a long-term investment with sell-on value, and so he should certainly be considered this summer.

In other Everton news, a pundit has backed the Blues to sign this “incredible” nine-goal attacker.
