David Ornstein: Everton board set for Tuesday meeting as Ancelotti exit is ‘done deal’

Everton board members are set to meet at Goodison Park this afternoon, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

It has been reported that Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid is a done deal, and will leave the Toffees looking for yet another new manager.

The Italian will move back to the Bernabeu Stadium nearly six years after leaving the Spanish capital to replace Zinedine Zidane.

Farhad Moshiri pulled it out of the bag when appointing Ancelotti last season.

It looked as though we were entering a new stage with the new stadium being built, and a big-name manager finally arriving to take us back to the big time.

That has come crashing down with Madrid flexing their muscles.

Hopefully, we have been able to take some big compensation from the Spanish club, who certainly have enough of that in the bank.

Contenders?

Many names have already been thrown into the hat to replace Ancelotti.

TalkSPORT have reported on their Twitter account that Nuno Espirito Santo is the main target after the Portuguese manager left Wolves at the end of last season.

Eddie Howe has once again been linked with the job, having already being interviewed for the role previously before Ancelotti got the role.

With the meeting being set for 3 pm this afternoon, it appears as though this has come out of nowhere and contenders will now be discussed.

It’s set to be a busy week, and we expect plenty more names to be thrown into the hat before a decision is made, farewell Carlo.
