Everton to try for Nuno Espirito Santo with Ancelotti-Real Madrid all but done

Everton are readying a swoop to hire Nuno Espirito Santo as their next manager with Carlo Ancelotti set to leave, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station reported on Twitter on Tuesday that Ancelotti is “on the cusp” of being unveiled as the new Real Madrid manager.

Ancelotti’s exit will spark Farhad Mohsiri and Bill Kenwright into yet another search for a new manager and it is understood ex-Wolves and Porto boss Nuno is being eyed up.

Well, that escalated quickly

Where did this come from? Seriously?

None of us were really expecting another change of manager this summer but here we are, on the verge of yet another change in the dugout.

Ancelotti’s exit comes as a massive surprise but the fact that Nuno is being lined up as a replacement really isn’t.

Everton

The Portuguese manager has had a great career so far, winning 47 per cent of the matches he’s taken charge of across spells at Wolves, Porto, Valencia and Rio Ave.

He has connections with superagent Jorge Mendes and that could help keep James Rodriguez happy as he’s also a client of the Portuguese agent.

It’s a stretch, we know, but some of Everton’s recent signings will have joined the club knowing they’d be managed by someone with a CV like Ancelotti’s.

Nuno’s CV is good having won the Championship title with Wolves and helping them become a strong Premier League club. But it doesn’t compare to Ancelotti’s really.
