Fabrizio Romano: Carlo Ancelotti is yet to sign agreement with Real Madrid

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is yet to sign an agreement with Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Sky Sports journalist has responded as the bombshell broke that the Italian could leave Goodison Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Marca have reported that Ancelotti could leave “in the next few hours” after Zinedine Zidane left the Bernabeu Stadium.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Romano shared the major update that will somewhat soothe Toffees fans, at least for the immediate future.

“Real Madrid are in talks with Carlo Ancelotti in order to appoint him as new manager, confirmed,” he wrote.

“No agreement signed yet as he’s under contract with Everton – but Real are pushing for Ancelotti back.”

Shocker.

Just as we were looking to build a big project in Merseyside, it appears as though we could have our manager stripped away from us.

Finishing 10th when Europe was in our grasps was a huge shock, but Ancelotti proved throughout the season that he has what it takes to bring back our success.

With one more brilliant transfer window, we could have been back in the big time.

Ancelotti has previously admitted that he has unfinished business at Madrid, and that could highlight that he wouldn’t exactly turn down the opportunity.

We’re expecting this to move quickly, so agreement or not, let’s not relax.
