Alan Myers responds as Everton fan asks about Arsene Wenger
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers admits he’s unsure who Everton want as their new manager after being asked if Arsene Wenger is in the running.
Carlo Ancelotti quit Goodison Park almost three weeks ago and since then, it’s been reported that the Blues have been on the verge of deals to hire Nuno Espirito Santo and Rafa Benitez.
However, an appointment is yet to be made an a number of managers remain as candidates to succeed Ancelotti on the blue side of Stanley Park [Myers].

On Sunday morning, one Evertonian asked Myers whether former Arsenal manager Wenger is in the running after seeing speculation linking him with the Toffees.
However, Myers is unsure.
“I don’t know what the truth is anymore,” the Sky Sports journalist admitted on his personal Twitter account on Sunday.
Shock on the cards?
Wenger hasn’t been in football management since leaving Arsenal in 2018 but it’s not as though the 71-year-old doesn’t involve himself in the sport anymore.
He sometimes takes pundit duty with certain broadcasters and is currently serving as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.
Wenger is a massive name and is someone who did an extraordinary job at Arsenal.
Only Sir Alex Ferguson comes close to Wenger in knowing the Premier League so well.
However, would we take him at Goodison Park?
Probably not.
Wenger, as mentioned, is 71-years-old and is unlikely to want a high-pressure job like the one at Goodison Park would be.
We’d also want someone who we can see being in charge for the long haul, as we initially thought Ancelotti would.
Wenger is a loyal man but it cannot be long before he retires for good.
We respect and admire the Frenchman but we’d sooner see some of the other candidates get a shot in charge at the Grand Old Lady.
