Jorge Mendes has offered Everton star James Rodriguez to European clubs
The super agent of Everton star James Rodriguez, Jorge Mendes, has offered him to a trio of European clubs, according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra.
Sierra’s Twitter biography states that his old account was suspended, and that he is a sports journalist for Win Sports TV, who boast over 1.5million followers, something which checks out on their website.
His report was also shared by multiple English journalists including Richard Buxton and BBC’s James Nalton, who relayed the information on his personal Twitter profile.

Nalton wrote: “According to this report James Rodriguez’s agent Jorge Mendes wants him to leave Everton. The Colombian has been offered to Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Milan for a fee between €10million (£8.5m) and €20million (£17.1m).”
Sierra’s original tweet also claims a return to Real Madrid cannot be ruled out, but would be “very difficult”.
New era
Rodriguez is a sensational player on his day, one of the best creative talents around, but those days have been few and far between since he arrived at Everton last summer.
He was brought to the club by his former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, and delivered a promising start on Merseyside as we shot up the table to lead the Premier League.
However, the inevitable injuries and lack of fitness started to come, and his second half of the season was shambolic, to say the least.
He missed eight of our last 13 fixtures as we tumbled down the league and missed out on European qualification that had looked like a certainty for much of the season, while he ended up on the same number of yellow cards as he had Premier League assists – four.
It was an expensive gamble that looked to have paid off at the start of the season, but his importance and value started to diminish, and he may well be seeking an exit now that Ancelotti has defected to the Spanish capital.
We wouldn’t be aghast at his inclusion in the starting XI at the beginning of next season, but if we can get a decent sum of money for him to invest in some younger prospects, we should do it.
