Aston Villa Ezri Konsa captured on social media training in an Everton shirt
Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa has been spotted training in an Everton kit on Instagram.
Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom posted the short clip which showed the former England U21 international sporting Alex Iwobi’s name on the back of a 2020/21 away kit.
The pair presumably swapped shirts after the drab goalless draw played out between Villa and The Toffees last season.

Konsa and Iwobi grew up in the same area of London, but appearing publicly in Everton colours cannot be a bad thing for future prospects of signing the player – especially as they’ve scouted him in the past [Echo].
One for the future
With Everton well-stocked for centre-backs at this point in the transfer window, a decisive move for Konsa seems unlikely.
The likes of Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina, Mason Holgate and Michael Keane are already fighting for spots, a quartet that boasts a healthy combination of youth and experience.
However, with Konsa seemingly unafraid to show his admiration for the club, the impressive 23-year-old could be someone director of football Marcel Brands looks to in the future if circumstances change.
Many felt Konsa was extremely unlucky to miss out on England’s squad for Euro 2020 with Tyrone Mings, Conor Coady and Ben White sneaking in ahead of him.
In fact, many Villa fans felt that Konsa had produced a better, more consistent season than Mings.
With the former Charlton and Brentford centre-back rapidly coming into his own at Villa Park, he will certainly be in Dean Smith’s plans for the upcoming season.
However, if whoever takes the Goodison Park hotseat fancies a defensive re-shuffle, Konsa has his jersey at the ready.
