Everton want a right-back, forwards and central midfielders this summer
Ex-Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti and director of football Marcel Brands discussed key positions and potential targets prior to the Italian’s exit.
According to The Athletic, those plans have not been ripped up as the Toffees chief and his scouting team have continued to identify likely summer recruits and speak to agents regarding moves.
Brands and Ancelotti earmarked right-back, the forward positions and central midfield as areas of interest that need strengthening this summer [The Athletic], and nothing has changed.

Everton really need to upgrade in those positions, but Brands may have to wait until a new manager comes in before anything is finalised.
Whoever succeeds Ancelotti would want a huge say in the summer deals the Toffees are looking to seal, and it is only right for him to want players that fit his style of play.
Jonjoe Kenny does not appear to have a future at Goodison Park amid speculation linking him with Arsenal [Mail], and we need to get in a suitable long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman.
James Rodriguez could seek to leave following Ancelotti’s exit [Mail], and a creative force capable of playing week in, week out should be brought regardless of the Colombian’s future.
We also need to strengthen in attack, with a winger and another striker of great priority.
Moise Kean is not likely to be at Everton next season with Paris Saint-Germain keen on retaining his services, and the Arsenal-linked [The Telegraph] Dominic Calvert-Lewin could do with a quality competition and cover.
Richarlison’s future is also unclear [The Athletic] at the moment, and another winger capable of putting in impressive shifts on a consistent basis would come in handy.
In other Everton news, English manager is still in frame for Toffees job despite Benitez being close.
