Benitez contract written up by Everton, just needs manager’s signature

Rafa Benitez has agreed personal terms to be the next Everton manager with his contract now written up and awaiting his signature, according to 90min.

The football news website reports that the 61-year-old’s appointment as Toffees boss is imminent and is set to be confirmed “in the coming days”.

It is understood that talks are at such an advanced stage that Benitez’s contract is simply waiting for him to sign on the dotted line before the ex-Liverpool manager secures a remarkable return to Merseyside.

Everton

Time to support him

Benitez is all but our new manager and while we understand why so many fellow Evertonians are furious with the hire, it’s now time to support him.

We’ll be allowed back in Goodison Park next season, all being well with COVID, and it’s time to show our support and get behind him and the players.

Benitez is someone with an excellent track record in the Premier League so he’s someone who we can count on to make progress on the project Farhad Moshiri is trying to kickstart.

If you’re going to be angry about the appointment then be angry with Moshiri, not Benitez. Yes, he called us a “small club” a long time ago but let bygones be bygones. It’s ancient history.

Benitez has been the subject of some very disgraceful banners that fans have hung up at Goodison Park and allegedly near his home in Merseyside.

If that doesn’t put him off the job then you know that he’s determined. He’ll try to prove those doubters wrong and show why Moshiri wanted him.
