Rafa Benitez arrives at Everton training ground
Rafa Benitez has arrived at Finch Farm in a blacked-out people carrier ahead of being confirmed as the new Everton manager.
The Football Daily Twitter account shared a video clip showing Benitez’s arrival at the Everton training ground on Wednesday with the Spaniard effectively the club’s new boss.
In the clip, Sky Sports journalist Vinny O’Connor also shared an update on what Benitez is going at Finch Farm today in relation to Duncan Ferguson and the other backroom staff already at the club.
O’Connor said: “We’ve also seen the likes of Duncan Ferguson arriving after Benitez.
“Before that, David Unsworth and Leighton Baines [are] also here at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground.
“We understand that Rafa Benitez will meet with them throughout the day and we still await that official confirmation.”
He added: “We expect that official announcement to come later today.”

Heeeeeeere’s Rafa
Whether you wanted Benitez in charge of the club or not, at least Everton finally have a new manager.
Of course, there are a lot of Evertonians who are unhappy with the appointment but we feel as though Benitez can go a long way to getting fans onside by keeping the likes of Big Dunc around.
Ferguson was a very popular shout among fans to succeed Carlo Ancelotti as the full-time manager. He knows the club, he’s adored by the fans, he’s someone who commands a lot of respect and he definitely won’t be walked over by players or those in the boardroom.
But above all else, Ferguson is a great coach and Benitez is bound to know that. Benitez should want to keep him no matter what.
It’s going to be an interesting day at Finch Farm and at Everton Football Club as a whole. In fact, it’s a monumental day in the history of Merseyside football.
But please, we urge fellow fans not to aim abuse at Rafa. At the end of the day, he’s a very bloke who loves Merseyside, has a family nearby and simply wants a job at a great Premier League club like Everton.
