Everton have followed up the appointment of Rafael Benitez by announcing that work on the new 52,888 capacity stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock is set to begin this month, and Barrett-Baxendale is very excited about this news.

She said: “I am not really sure how I can emphasise how important a milestone it will be when we do actually break ground on July 26.
“I have no doubt it will be recognised as a momentous day in the history of our football club because it’s been no secret that we as a club have had ambitions for a new stadium for nearly three decades.
“I know this has been a moment many Evertonians have been waiting for, and we can now stop thinking and talking about this being our proposed stadium and start the building work required to make our long-held stadium ambition a reality.”
Huge news for Everton
The initial plans to build a stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock were proposed in 2017 when the club bought the land, and here we are in 2021, and finally, the stadium is about to be built [Liverpool Echo].

Everton’s CEO sounded absolutely thrilled with this news, and it is fantastic that the Toffees can finally start thinking about their new home.
Moshiri wants the Toffees to compete in the Champions League, and building this new stadium should help him achieve that goal [Liverpool Echo].
This is a huge day for Everton and potentially signals a much brighter future for the Toffees, and Evertonians must be so excited that work on their new ground is finally set to begin.
However, the priority, for now, should be having a strong transfer window and improving on the 10th-place finish during the 2020/21 season so that by the time the Toffees are ready to move into their new ground, they are in a good position.
