Duncan Castles: Everton have ‘massive money’ to spend under Benitez

Duncan Castles has insisted that Everton may need to bend the rulebook in order to spend “massive money” this summer.

Farhad Moshiri has spent big money on coaches and players since taking over the club, and Rafa Benitez was no different.

The Spaniard has inherited a squad that needs desperately adding too, something may cost a heavy sum this summer.

Speaking on The Transfer Window podcast, Castles shared the major update on the Toffees’ finances.

“This is an opportunity to coach a club with significant resources,” he said.

“They’re having problems getting them into the first team, and they’ve got big financial issues to solve, but there is massive money behind the club if they can find a way to get through or around the rule book and get it into the squad.”

Huge money.

Will Benitez have been promised big money?

It would appear strange if Moshiri didn’t back the Spaniard given the huge risk he has taken to appoint him, forcing huge protests from fans.

Marcel Brands has already met with the new manager this week, and potential new players will have been high on this list.

There are plenty of areas that need solving in this squad, right-back and the final third just to name a couple.

It will take big money to solve, but if players such as James Rodriguez and Gylfi Sigurdsson leave, their big wages will solve part of the issues.

This could be an exciting summer ahead and if you want Europe, you need to spend; bring it on.
