James Rodriguez future at Everton in ‘serious doubt’
The Everton future of James Rodriguez is in “serious doubt” this summer after the arrival of Rafa Benitez.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the South American is now being offered to clubs around Europe as an exit looks inevitable.
Benitez followed and replaced Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid all those years ago, and Rodriguez also fell out of favour there.

Writing for the Echo on Thursday morning, Phil Kirkbride shared the major update on our playmaking superstar.
“James Rodriguez’s Everton future is not yet finalised but there are serious doubts over the Colombian staying at Goodison now that Benitez’s appointment has been sorted,” he wrote.
“The 29-year-old is, it is believed, being offered to clubs around Europe, including AC Milan, as his representatives prepare for the distinct possibility of the playmaker being told he no longer features in the plans.”

Doubt.
The future may be described as doubtful, but that all-but-means that there is little-to-no chance of Rodriguez playing for the Toffees next season.
We all know that the Colombian most likely only made the move in the first place because of Ancelotti, and his exit won’t have gone down well.
It leaves Benitez with a real lack of creativity in the final third, something that will need to be addressed quickly.
Add to that the expected departures of Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson, and numerous signings will need to be made.
Rodriguez had a very good first stint in the Premier League, but injuries halted that consistency, something that will follow him for the rest of his career.
We hope we don’t come to regret this, but it looks as though there could be some big exits on the cards this summer.
