Jim White smirks as Everton fans screams down phone about Rafa Benitez
TalkSPORT were forced into cutting off a caller on Thursday due to his loud, screaming rant about Rafa Benitez’s arrival at Everton.
On Wednesday, the Blues announced the former Liverpool manager as their replacement for Carlo Ancelotti.
As expected, sections of the Blues support haven’t taken the news well and one Evertonian phoned talkSPORT to speak to Jim White about the controversial appointment.
However, the supporter ranted so loud that talkSPORT had to cut short his call.
“Here’s the thing, Jim,” said Steve the Everton fan, as shown on talkSPORT’s YouTube account [1m00s].
“Money’s great but it doesn’t guarantee you anything.
“If he gets off to a bad start – and I hope he does because I want him out of my football club. Other people are laughing at us for the last four weeks.”
Steve then started to shout down the phone at White, causing the talkSPORT host to smirk.
He continued: “It’s a joke, Jim. And Mr Moshiri and all his money and his [inaudible]. Rafa Benitez loves the city and his kids have been going to a Liverpool school for the last 10 years.”
White then stopped the caller and said: “But Steve, is there not an argument that you should come into the real world?
“I said yesterday Luis Figo goes to Barcelona from Real Madrid, there are others.
“The times in which we’re living, he will do the best job he can possibly do for your club.”
Steve was clearly wound up by White’s words and hit back even louder than before.
He said: “It doesn’t fit. We’re not interested, Jim.” Steve then shouted so loud his following words are too difficult to transcribe but you can watch the clip below. But at one point, Steve says: “That Moshiri has broken my heart by appointing him.”
TalkSPORT then cut the caller off because of how inaudible his rant was.
Wow
Steve clearly needs to calm down.
Steve needs to stop letting a decision to hire a top manager cause him to get so irate that you cannot even make out the words he is saying.
It’s not good for your health, Steve.
Everton Football Club is a big football club – one of the biggest in England and certainly the biggest outside of the traditional top-six in the Premier League.
We’ll only be laughed at by rival fans if we let them.
If you’re so worried about what Kopites and other Premier League fans think of us then you need to realise that it’s not about them – it’s about us.
And as far as we’re concerned, we’ve hired yet another Champions League-winning manager who’s a massive name and has a great knowledge of the Premier League and the Merseyside area.
Benitez will surprise a lot of people, remember this.
