Marcus Bent: Pedro Neto would be brilliant for Everton
Marcus Bent claims Wolves winger Pedro Neto would a brilliant addition to the Everton attack.
According to Liverpool Echo, the Portugal international has admirers at Goodison Park, with the club in search of a left-footed wide-man who can operate on the right.
Neto is currently recovering from surgery on a knee injury he sustained in April, and it is unknown whether Everton will firm up their interest with a bid this summer.
Bent believes he could be perfect for the Toffees, telling This is Futbol: “He can play out wide, he can play down the middle, scores goals as well.
“I think that’s the key at the minute, quick winger, cannot just score goals, he’s got a good pass on him; he’s got a good through ball.
“He’s done well at Wolves. To bring him in at Everton at that age would be brilliant.”
Massive player
The 21-year-old bagged five goals and six assists in 31 Premier League goals last season and is one of the best youngsters in the land.
We currently have Richarlison as our best winger and could do with another top attacker to complement him.
The Brazilian loves to play predominantly on the left, and should Everton manage to hold on to him this summer, bringing in a right winger to strengthen their attack could be massive.
Neto can play on both wings and as a striker too, and manager Rafa Benitez could do with such a player.
With a lot of years still ahead of him, the Portugal international has the potential to become one of the best players in the world, and is the type of player we should be signing.
However, convincing him that a move from Wolves to Everton is a step up could prove difficult.
The Midlands side finished above us twice in the last three seasons and were recently in Europe.
Benitez has to guide us to the top-six sooner or later to boost our chances of luring players away from fellow Premier League sides, and all eyes are on the Spaniard heading into the new season.
