Jorge Mendes is desperately trying to find James Rodriguez a new club
Paolo Paganini, an Italian football journalist, has told Radio Marte that Jorge Mendes is trying everything he can to find Everton star James Rodriguez a new club.
The Colombian has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan, but it seems as if the Serie A giants aren’t that keen on a move for the 29-year-old [Tuttosport].
Rodriguez was at pre-season training on Monday, but after the appointment of Rafael Benitez, he isn’t expected to stick around for long due to past disagreements between the pair [Daily Mirror].
Paganini, followed by The Athletic journalist James Horncastle and beIN SPORTS correspondent Tancredi Palmeri on his personal Twitter profile, said: “Mendes is proposing [him] on the right and on the left. Milan would like to bet on a younger player with a less heavy salary.” [via Casa Napoli, 05/07/21]

Rodriguez to AC Milan?
It sounds as if Milan are not too keen on making a move for Rodriguez at this time, and given his age and injury record, this is not a surprise.
He still has one year left on his deal at Goodison Park, and if the Toffees can’t sell him, then could he be used by Benitez, given his decent first season in the Premier League?

That remains to be seen. His agent, though, seems to be working overtime to find the former Real Madrid man a move away, and even if Milan decide they don’t want him, you would think another club would be willing to swoop in and take Rodriguez.
It must be remembered that the 29-year-old was the Golden Boot winner at the 2014 World Cup and has won a lot of trophies, so the Toffees should be able to get someone to take him if Benitez decides that he doesn’t want the Colombian.
