Fabrizio Romano: Rafa Benitez refutes Moise Kean loan to PSG amid active Everton talks
Everton are in talks with PSG over the transfer of Moise Kean but Rafa Benitez still wants to keep him, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking via his Twitch account on Friday night [09/07/21], the respected Italian journalist spoke about the future of the 21-year-old who spent last season on loan at the French giants.
“Let’s give an update on Moise Kean and PSG because they are talking with Everton for Moise Kean,” Romano said.

“They were really relaxed and optimistic because [Carlo] Ancelotti was prepared to send him again on loan to PSG but now Rafa Benitez wants to keep Moise Kean.
“So either you are selling Moise Kean on a permanent deal or it will be really, really difficult to do it because at the moment Rafa Benitez doesn’t want to let him go on loan.”

Stamping his authority
This may be an early move by Benitez that could win a few doubters over.
The Spaniard’s move to Everton caused fury among many supporters when it was reported that he could replace Ancelotti at Goodison Park, mainly because of his past Liverpool connections and historical derogatory comments towards the Blues.
It will take more a lot more than this to row back some support, but this could be a power move that shows the contrast in style between him and his predecessor.
Seemingly, Ancelotti was happy to see Kean farmed out on loan once again, but judging by Romano’s comments, it’s either a permanent exit or he will be staying on Merseyside for the coming season.
That’s exactly what we want to see, because why should one of the richest clubs in the world continue to borrow one of the most expensive young forwards in the world?
Either we need to see money on the table, or he has to try and force his way into Benitez’s selection.
In other Everton news, the Blues are set to transfer list this big-money 45-cap international star in pursuit of a new signing.
