Everton to make move for Allan Saint-Maximin

Everton and Rafael Benitez might move for Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin during this summer transfer window should the Toffees sell Richarlison, according to the Daily Mirror.

They say that “sources close to” Benitez’s camp have indicated that the 24-year-old is the top choice to replace Richarlison if Carlo Ancelotti takes him to Real Madrid. The report adds that Everton could make a £50million swoop for the Frenchman but Newcastle want £60million for him.

It seems as if the former Magpies manager is not worried about upsetting his old club and their fans, and this could most certainly be one to keep an eye on as the window progresses.

Will Everton move for Saint-Maximin?

Richarlison was linked with a move to Real Madrid recently, and if that deal were to happen, Saint-Maximin could be the ideal replacement for the Brazilian [Goal].

The Frenchman is versatile and hinted not too long ago that he doesn’t want to be in a relegation battle with the Toon again, and a move to Goodison Park to play under Benitez could be enough to convince Saint-Maximin to leave St James’ Park [talkSPORT Facebook].

The 24-year-old has been described by Alan Shearer as one of the “Premier League’s best” in terms of how direct he is [Premier League YouTube channel].

He is also arguably one of Newcastle’s best players, and they do have him tied down until 2026.

Therefore, it could take a huge bid to convince the Toon to part ways with Saint-Maximin, but if Everton were to lose Richarlison, you would think they could have the money needed to make the deal happen.

In terms of his end product, in 51 league games, Saint-Maximin has only scored six goals and provided nine assists, but the Toon have won just three league games over the past two seasons without him.

So, he is a crucial player for them and could be the perfect addition for Everton.
