Everton on verge of signing Sunderland talent Francis Okoronkwo
Everton have won the race to sign Sunderland striker Francis Okoronkwo after agreeing a fee with the Wearside club, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper claims the Blues are set to pay up to £1million for the 16-year-old talent, who was wanted by other clubs in the Premier League.
It is understood that Okoronkwo impressed for Sunderland’s Under-18s last season and once the transfer is given the green light by the Premier League, he’ll join up with the academy at Everton.

High hopes
Everton have one of the best academies in the country but that does not mean that we cannot go out their and poach top talent from other clubs.
Sunderland have produced some top talent in recent years – just look at our number one and the captain of those lot across Stanley Park.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that Okoronkwo will go on to have a career like Jordan Pickford and Jordan Henderson have but there’s no denying it’s exciting that we’re about to sign him.
Okoronkwo has caught the eye of other top-flight clubs in England and reading that he’s 6ft 3in tall makes us think he’ll be quite the powerhouse up front.
Last season, Okoronkwo made 17 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League, scoring three goals and supplying three assists.
It’s fairly obvious how he got the attention of Everton too as he scored and set up another goal in Sunderland’s 4-3 win over our young lads in May.
