Everton the latest club to register their interest in Haris Seferovic
Everton are the latest Premier League club to register their interest in signing Benfica striker Haris Seferovic, according to a report from Correio de Manha.
The Portuguese newspaper reports that the 29-year-old Swiss striker is a player that “pleases” Rafael Benitez but that the Toffees must pay £21.6million to seal a deal, which seems like a good deal for someone with a strong scoring record in Portugal.
It seems as if because Seferovic had a strong Euros for his country Benfica have increased his price tag, and it will intriguing to see if Everton decide he is worth it.

The Toffees already have Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who Benitez heaped praise on recently as their number one striker [Daily Mirror].
However, if the Toffees are going to push on up the league, you would think they could need another forward, who can provide an option off the bench or rotate with Calvert-Lewin.
Seferovic could be that man as in both the 2018/19 season and 2020/21 season, he scored over 20 goals, scoring 22 in the most recent campaign.

These are impressive numbers, though he did have a poor 2019/20 season, only scoring five league goals, despite playing most of the games.
However, after his strong performances in the Euros, you would think he would be full of confidence and could arrive at Goodison Park ready to compete with Calvert-Lewin and prove to Benitez that he deserves to be the starting striker.
This could prove to be a clever signing by Everton as it could push Calvert-Lewin on, Seferovic could be an option off the bench, or he could replace the England forward.
However, we will have to see if Everton do sign Seferovic or if they decide to look elsewhere.
