Everton target Dwight McNeil worth ‘substantially more’ than £25m
Everton could be priced out of a move for Dwight McNeil after it was revealed that Burnley want “substantially more” than £25million, according to LancsLive.
They claim that the Toffees value the winger at £25million, but the Clarets are “in a strong position” to keep the 21-year-old. The report also states that Burnley will “reject any advances” for the player and that the Clarets “have no financial need to sell”.
This seems like it could be a blow to Everton’s chances of signing McNeil, and it could take an absolutely huge bid to convince the Clarets to part ways with the England Under-21 international.

Is McNeil worth it?
The Toffees have already added two wingers in the shape of Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend. Both have plenty of Premier League experience and are handy additions.
However, McNeil is a different prospect altogether; at just 21, he has already provided 16 assists in the Premier League, which is more than Gray.
Also, he has haunted Everton in the past and scored a “sensational” strike against the Toffees last season [Burnley’s YouTube channel].

The thought of him providing crosses to Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a mouth-watering prospect, and if Everton can put the finances together to get a deal done, then they should be all over that.
However, this report seems to suggest that McNeil is not for sale unless the Clarets receive a ridiculous offer.
So, it remains to be seen what happens there, but this could be one to keep an eye on as McNeil would be a player that would certainly improve this Everton side, and they shouldn’t give up just yet.
