Everton Super Fans ecstatic after reported bid for Joaquin Correa

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Everton Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Goodison News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Goodison Park.

Everton have tabled a bid to sign Lazio attacker Joaquin Correa this summer, according to Il Messaggero.

The Italian media outlet has reported that the club have also opened talks with the 26-year-old’s agent as they’re keen on signing the Lazio ace.

However, they’re facing competition from fellow Premier League sides, with Leicester City, Wolves, Tottenham and Arsenal all understood to be keep an eyeing on the Argentine.

The Toffees are looking to sign a wide forward this summer despite the arrivals of Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray.

They’re likely to add to the bench strength of the squad, but Rafa Benitez is reportedly looking to sign someone who can walk into his playing eleven.

Correa could be that man in his book and certainly is in the eyes of Toffees fans on Facebook.

They were ecstatic at the news of a bid being tabled and want the club to bring the 26-year-old to Goodison Park this summer.

Here’s what they said:

Get him in

Correa is a phenomenal attacking talent who’s arguably at his peak and this is the perfect opportunity for us to sign him.

He’s only 26, so will be there at the club for the next five years and isn’t expected to be too expensive either.

Our bid is believed to be in the region of £17million and even if that’s not enough for Lazio we could always look to sign him closer to £25million mark as he’s someone worth the money and would be an instant success at the club.

However, signing him over the other English sides also keen on him would prove to be complicated so we’ve got to be swift in our business or risk losing out on a player of his calibre.
