Everton will not be pursuing £70m deal for Allan Saint-Maximin
Everton will not be pursuing the signing of Newcastle forward Allan Saint-Maximin this summer, according to The Liverpool Echo.
The report states that the Frenchman will cost Everton or any club interested will have to cough up a staggering fee in the region of £70million.
While Everton have the funds to shell out this summer to back new manager Rafa Benitez, they’re unlikely to spend that kind of money on just one player.

Out of their minds
Newcastle are overvaluing their prized asset by over twice of what he’s worth, in our book.
Saint-Maximin is a £30million player at best and he still does not walk into our playing eleven.
He may be a quality attacker with moments of brilliance that can glue people to their television screens, but he’s not at the level where we should consider breaking our transfer record.
He’s also highly rated by Kevin Campbell who told Goodison News exclusively, “But (Saint-Maximin) he’s lightning quick, he is skilful he can beat people, he’s dynamic, gets people off the edge of their seats.
Should Benitez opt to play a 4-3-3 system then we expect the same attacking three of Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Rodriguez to start in the final third.

Only a switch to a 4-2-3-1, similar formations with four attacking players, or James’ exit could see Saint-Maximin or any other wide attackers we sign this summer come into our first team.
Our existing transfer record is just under the £40m paid to Swansea City for Gylfi Sigurdsson in 2017 and we’re not likely to break that for the Newcastle attacker this summer.
That kind of amount should be and probably is being reserved for quality and possibly world-class talents that walk through the door at Goodison Park.
Recent reports have linked us with Kalidou Koulibaly and former Everton left-back, who claims to have insider knowledge at the club has stated that we’re in talks for the player and personal terms should not be an issue for him.
