Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has been criticised by a report from the Guardian
Farhad Moshiri’s time at Everton has been criticised in a new report from the Guardian.
The Guardian provided a short review on Moshiri in their team preview of the Toffees for the 2021/22 Premier League season. They claimed that he is “bewildering and erratic” and that under his guidance, they “have fallen even further from the Premier League elite”.
They also state that “wasteful spending and poor managerial choices” have been the “hallmarks of his tenure”. This is a pretty damming assessment of Moshiri and his time at Goodison Park.

Is Moshiri that bad?
Since the 66-year-old became the Toffees’ majority owner in 2016, the club have started to build a new stadium and have also appointed the likes of Rafael Benitez and Carlo Ancelotti.
The new stadium should be impressive, and both Ancelotti and Benitez have incredible CVs. However, it remains to be seen how the Spaniard does at Goodison, while Ancelotti left before we could see what he was capable of.

Some of Everton’s other managerial appointments in that time, like Marco Silva, proved to be disastrous, while huge amounts of money have been wasted on transfers.
So you can see why this report slates the Everton owner as he has made some dodgy choices in the past.
However, he deserves credit for continuing to pump money into the club as well as securing a brand new stadium.
So, we think that this assessment of Moshiri is slightly harsh but still makes some valid points.
In other Everton news, the club have proposed a swap deal for a Premier League player.
