Tom Davies-Sean Longstaff swap deal for Everton played down
Everton midfielder Tom Davies has appeared in links for a potential swap deal with Newcastle for Sean Longstaff.
The Chronicle shared the reports on their website this morning and appeared to play those down.
Newcastle are said to want reinforcements in midfield this summer, with Steve Bruce confusingly ready to get rid of one of his own to do that.

Writing on the Chronicle website this morning, Lee Ryder responded to the potential swap deal in the next three weeks.
“Interestingly, a story appeared at the Everton end this morning that Tom Davies could feature in a swap deal for Sean Longstaff but this was played down for the moment,” he said.

Surely not.
Davies showed great promise last season, and it would be strange to get rid to bring in another young midfielder who hasn’t shown as much.
Manchester United have been reportedly interested in Longstaff in recent years, but he has gone downhill since then.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tipped the midfielder to become a “top-class” Premier League player, but that hasn’t progressed as of yet.
We are much better of sticking with Davies and giving him the chance to progress alongside the likes of Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Another midfielder appears to be a target, but we need another big-name player, rather than another youngster who could take years to progress.
Davies has over 100 Premier League appearances to his name, we have to keep faith in one of our own, rather than shipping them away.
