Everton have Joaquin Correa bid rejected

Everton have seen their first bid for Lazio attacker Joaquin Correa rejected, according to a report from tuttomercatoweb.

They claim that the Toffees and Arsenal have had their offers for the 26-year-old “returned” because they were deemed “too low”.

It is unclear how much Everton offered for the Argentine, but the report states that Lazio are looking for between 25million Euros and 30million Euros [£21.2million – £25.4million], so we can probably work out that it was lower than that.

What happens next?

Well, Everton could yet return with another offer for Correa as the report claims that readers should “keep an eye on the English”, suggesting that both the Toffees and Arsenal could return.

However, it appears as if Everton will also face competition from Inter Milan and Leicester City.

So this could turn into a proper transfer battle, which you would think would benefit Lazio but maybe not so much the Toffees, as the Serie A side could start raising their asking price.

It will be intriguing to see if Everton return with another offer for Correa as he is someone who could definitely improve their team.

Last season, he scored eight goals in just 28 appearances, which would have made him the Toffees’ second-top goalscorer [WhoScored].

So, we hope to see the club come back in with another offer for Correa as he is a unique talent who could push the Toffees up another level.
