Everton are keen on signing Harry Winks

Everton are keen on bringing Tottenham Hotspur man Harry Winks to Goodison Park, according to Sky Sports Italy’s Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer expert was speaking to the Last Word on Spurs about Tottenham transfer news, and he mentioned the Toffees’ interest in the England international [YouTube].

However, Winks is happy at Spurs and doesn’t want to leave, so if Everton are to sign him, they will need to put together an attractive contract proposal.

Romano said: “I’m told that Everton have an interest in him, but I’m also told that he is really happy at Spurs. But he can be a player with a lot potential, and he still wants to show his skills at Tottenham.”

Will the Toffees sign Winks?

The 25-year-old has been with Spurs for pretty much his entire career and has never played for another club.

So, you can see why he might want to remain in north London. However, last season he struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho, and it is unclear if he will get much more this season.

Therefore, a move to Goodison Park could be exactly what he needs, and he is a player with plenty of experience in both the Premier League and European competition.

However, he is not a midfielder who is going to burst into the box and grab goals, so if that is what the Toffees are looking for, then they should perhaps look elsewhere [Total Football Analysis].

It will be interesting to see where this story goes, and we will provide any updates as soon as we hear them on this potential deal.
