Everton starlet Anthony Gordon tipped to make breakthrough

Everton starlet Anthony Gordon has been tipped to finally make the breakthrough into the Toffees’ first team this season.

In the Daily Mail’s preview of Everton, they claimed that the 20-year-old should feature for Rafael Benitez’s team more this season and that this year could be the “breakthrough season” everyone has been waiting for.

Gordon has made 20 first-team appearances for the Toffees up until now, but it seems as if big things are expected of him this year.

Gordon to make an impact!

The 20-year-old is capable of playing in various positions across the front line, and with Benitez’s side failing to spend big money in the transfer market so far, perhaps we will see more of Gordon.

The Liverpool-born starlet has long been seen as one of Everton’s brightest prospects and has been described as “exciting” by Preston North End defender Greg Cunningham in the past [LancsLive].

So, he clearly has the potential, and now it could be time to unleash him.

There isn’t that much optimism around Goodison Park at the moment, with Benitez dividing the fanbase and the lack of signings leaving many Evertonians nervous about this season.

Therefore, what better way to provide some hope and optimism by playing Gordon and allowing him to show what he can do in front of a packed Goodison?

We hope that we get to see more of Gordon this season and pray that this is his year.
