Jeff Stelling predicts Everton clash v Southampton
Jeff Stelling and Chris Kamara predict Everton will beat Southampton and start their Premier League season with a bang at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Rafa Benitez will take charge of the Blues for the first time in a competitive setting when they welcome Ralph Hassenhuttl’s Southampton to Merseyside.
Last season, both of these teams won their home ties against each other with Richarlison getting the only goal of the game at Goodison back in March.

Kamra is going for the same result – a 1-0 win for the Blues – while Stelling is backing Benitez’s men to win 3-0 and Laura Woods predicts a 2-1 victory for the Toffees.
Ex-Liverpool striker Neil Mellor, however, has gone for 0-0 as the quartet made their predictions on the Super 6 website.

Really?
It’s hard to see us winning as easily as Stelling is predicting.
Southampton may have lost one of their best players this summer with Danny Ings joining Aston Villa but they still pose a threat and they, like us, showed last season they can start a campaign strongly.
Hassenhuttl is a good manager with a good squad at his disposal so to dismiss them completely would be dangerous.
Everton, on the other hand, have had a summer of discontent.
Carlo Ancelotti’s exit threw everything up in the air and it look what seemed like forever to hire Benitez as his replacement.
Evertonians are not fully behind that and it will be interesting to see what reception the ex-Liverpool boss gets at Goodison on Saturday afternoon.
Most importantly, our business in the transfer market has been slow and the only signings made have been ones to pad out the squad.
It’s been a tough 2021 to be an Everton fan. But let’s hope they can match Stelling’s expectations and get this season rolling as soon as possible.
In other Everton news, the Blues are eyeing a deal to sign this South American ace who wants to quit his cash-strapped club.
