Thierry Small quits Everton to become a free agent
Thierry Small has left Everton to become a free agent after the two parties failed to resolve the 17-year-old’s future at Goodison Park.
That’s according to ‘The Bobble’, a Twitter account that regularly provides insight from around Finch Farm. They are followed by The Times’ Paul Joyce and ex-Everton captain Kevin Ratcliffe.
He has been early on a number of key deals, such as the news that Andros Townsend was in talks with Everton in July, hours before Joyce himself tweeted the news.

On Tuesday evening, he claimed Small had left Everton.
He wrote: “Thierry Small has officially left Everton and is a free agent. Everton will be due compensation when he joins a new club.”
Inevitable
Small’s Everton exit has been expected for some time, with The Athletic reporting that he had gone AWOL during the first week of pre-season training as he attempted to engineer a move away after growing disillusioned on Merseyside.
It was claimed that he was fearful about getting regular chances at the Blues with Lucas Digne and Niels Nkounkou ahead of him in the left-back pecking order.
The Secret Scout’s Twitter account also claimed last month that Small was set to leave the Blues, and now it appears that has become a reality.
It remains to be seen where he ends up, but there has been strong talk that he will move to Aston Villa, the club he has strong links to and grew up supporting.
It’s a shame for the Blues to lose one of their most highly-rated talents, and it can’t be said he wasn’t given a chance after making his debut as a 16-year-old earlier this year during an FA Cup clash against Sheffield Wednesday.
He became our youngest ever player in the process but clearly feels his pathway is being blocked at the Blues.
In other Everton news, the Blues want to sign this 2020/21 European title winner who was at Real Madrid under Rafa Benitez.
