Marcus Bent: Everton should sign Ross Barkley this summer
Everton urged to sign Chelsea’s attacking midfielder Ross Barkley this summer by former Toffees full-back Michael Ball.
The England international spent eight years on the books at Everton before leaving for Chelsea.
However, his move to Stamford Bridge did not go as he would have expected and is now out of favour at the club with Thomas Tuchel looking to sell him this summer. [The Sun]

Speaking to Transfer Tavern, Ball said, when asked about whether or not he would like Barkley back at the club, “I think so, because we need a player who is quick, skilful and can move us forward.
“Bringing him back in would be taking a chance and he would need to hit the ground running.
“He is an asset and someone who I feel is skilful, and he’s mature now.”
Should we re-sign him?
Barkley looked ferocious in his final few years at Goodison Park and it was the main reason why Chelsea showed an interest in him before eventually sign him.
He was an attacking midfielder but he often drifted out wide and was central to everything we did in the final third.

However, since his move to Stamford Bridge, his career has stagnated and possibly even taken a few steps back.
He’s no longer the lethal and consistent attacking midfielder that the Goodison Park faithful loved to watch.
Add to that, he’s also suffered his fair share of injuries which brings up another red flag if we are seriously considering signing him this summer.
When he’s on song, he does look like one of the division’s best attacking midfielders, but unfortunately, those days are few and far between and we’re better off looking elsewhere.
