Everton could make bid for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie
Everton could make an offer to sign 22-year-old Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, according to Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.
It is claimed that the USA international, who was named the Player of the Tournament at the 2021 CONCACAF Nations League, could be the “surprise sale” at Juventus this summer.
His debut season with the Serie A giants has piqued the attention of Premier League clubs, as per CalcioMercato’s report, and Everton and Tottenham Hotspur could make bids, though Juventus are not willing to give any discount on the central midfielder.

Dream deal
With every player linked at the moment, there is going to be scepticism about whether the club can actually afford to spend significant sums on players this summer due to reports around FFP restrictions.
Until the board or Rafa Benitez come out and actually confirm there that is the case or not we have to hold out some hope that it’s not the case.
As ever, initial links to players always have to be taken with a pinch of salt.
But what is clear, though, is that McKennie is exactly the profile of player we should pursuing over the next few years.

He made 75 Bundesliga appearances before he turned 22 while he scored five goals in 34 Serie A outings last term during his debut campaign in Italy.
McKennie also scored a “sensational” [Sports Illustrated] goal against Barcelona in the Champions League last year.
The American is a powerful and athletic box-to-box midfielder who can weigh in with goals – exactly what we need to supplement the Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in the attack.
At such a young age he has achieved so much. It may be difficult to sign him, but we should certainly be going all out for his signature if at all possible.
In other Everton news, the Blues are in talks to sign this title-winning forward, bid lined up for Anfield equaliser hero.
