Everton table new bid to sign Lazio star Joaquin Correa
Everton have made a new and improved bid to sign Lazio forward Joaquin Correa, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The newspaper reported in their print edition on August 22 [page 67] that the Blues have offered £32million plus add-ons for the 27-year-old Argentina international, who’s a “key target” for Rafa Benitez.
It is understood that Everton are “confident” of being able to complete a deal for Correa before the transfer deadline passes on August 31.

The Sunday Mirror adds that Pedro’s arrival at Lazio means they already have a replacement for Correa, whose agent has greenlighted a move to Goodison Park for him to earn £4million-a-year (£77,000-a-week).
Inter Milan are also said to be keen but Correa wants to play in the Premier League.

Important addition
Everton’s transfer activity has been underwhelming this summer.
Demarai Gray lit up Elland Road with a superb goalscoring performance against Leeds on Saturday while we may still see some good displays from Andros Townsend.
However, they are not stellar additions and they haven’t made the squad much better than it was last season.
Correa, though, is likely to do that.
The Argentina international is versatile and can play in almost every attacking position.
Last season, Correa made 38 appearances in all competitions for Lazio, scoring 11 goals and supplying six assists in the process.
He played very centrally for the Lazio attack, featuring as a striker and a No 10 for the Italian giants.
With major question marks surrounding Gylfi Sigurdssson and James Rodriguez’s futures at Goodison Park, Correa would be a very clever addition to this squad.
In other Everton news, the Blues have granted this senior player permission to speak to other clubs.
