Everton target Malang Sarr will make decision on future today after meetings
Everton have made an enquiry for Chelsea centre-back Malang Sarr and he is expected to make a decision after meetings on Monday, according to the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old is also discussing a loan move to Bologna, and both suitors will have to wait to see whether they can convince the Frenchman to join them ahead of the other.
Sarr spent last season on loan at Porto, and the left-sided centre-back is not in the plans of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for the season, with the Blues ready to approve another temporary exit.
Chance?
Everton conceded twice against Leeds United at the weekend and our defence could have done better.
Rafa Benitez could do with a quality addition in the defensive department before the summer transfer window shuts at the end of this month.
Michael Keane was partially at fault again at Elland Road for the hosts’ first equaliser after his error against Southampton last week, and Yerry Mina does not always rise to the occasion, even though he was in fine form against Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
Making big-money permanent signings seems to be problem for us right now, and thus a loan move for Sarr could make sense.
The former OGC Nice centre-back needs to prove himself in the English top-flight if he wants to boost his chances of ever playing for Chelsea, and we could be offering him that chance at Goodison Park.
Sarr was impressive at Porto last season, and the Toffees need such a solid option capable of giving our error-prone centre-backs a run for their money.
