Confirmed: Rafael Benitez rings the changes for Huddersfield Town clash

Everton manager Rafael Benitez has made nine changes to his starting XI for this evening’s clash against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup.

However, despite this, it is still a strong team, which includes the likes of Andros Townsend and Moise Kean

There is also a debut for Asmir Begovic while Michael Keane and Alex Iwobi remain in the team from the 2-2 draw with Leeds United. This is also the ideal opportunity for Jean-Philippe Gbamin to prove that he is good enough to play for Benitez week in week out.

Enough to win the game?

This is a strong team from the Spaniard, but Huddersfield come into this match off the back of a win against Sheffield United and could pose a threat to the Toffees.

However, overall we feel as if the Spaniard has selected a strong enough team to progress to the next round, and it is up to the players selected to prove to Benitez that they belong in the first team.

Of course, if everything starts to go wrong, he has Demarai Gray and Lucas Digne on the bench should they be needed.

Hopefully, none of them are required, and the XI put out complete the job and secure Everton’s place in the next round of the Carabao Cup.

We can’t wait for this match to begin and, hopefully, see some more goals from Benitez’s side, who have found the back of the net five times in the first two Premier League games.

Can they keep that free-scoring run going tonight with this XI?

Well, we are about to find out.
