Michael Brown blown away by Everton man Tom Davies
Michael Brown was blown away by Everton man Tom Davies’ display against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup.
Speaking on Sky Sports News, Brown showered the 23-year-old with praise after he split the Terriers’ defence apart to set up Alex Iwobi for his first goal of the season.
Rafael Benitez selected Davies from the start, and he certainly made an impression on Brown.

He said: “It was all about Tom Davies breaking from midfield; it was a great run through the centre; Iwobi coming off the wing just slots right into him on the penalty spot.
“The run, the intent from Davies, good little pass in there.
“It’s all about the timing, and Tom Davies’ energy certainly set that off.”
Davies to feature in the Premier League?
This was an impressive display from Davies, who pretty much ran the game from midfield and showed great pace and skill to create the opening goal.
There is a lot of competition for places in Everton’s midfield, but if Davies keeps playing like this, then you would think it won’t be long until he is regularly in Benitez’s starting XI in the Premier League.

The Everton academy graduate did pretty much everything he could to help his side win the match, and it was great to see that Brown recognised his display.
The question is, though, has Davies done enough to force himself into the Toffees’ starting XI on Saturday when they play Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League?
Well, that remains to be seen, but Davies was impressive tonight.
