Duncan Castle: Kia Joorabchian has told Everton there is a buyer for Richarlison
Kia Joorabchian has told Everton there is a buyer for Richarlison, according to The Times journalist Duncan Castles.
The Toffees are open to selling the Brazilian international forward if a significant offer comes in, and the agent – who has a close relationship with owner Farhad Moshiri – appears to have found a club interested in meeting their demands.
Paris Saint-Germain have been recently linked with Richarlison, 24, but Castles did not specify which club Joorabchian is speaking with.
Speaking on the transfer window podcast (at 11:51 mark), the journalist said: “Kia Joorabchian has told Everton he has a club who wants to sign Richarlison. He told them to prepare for that offer and prepare to secure a replacement.”
Huge
Everton are in dire need of funds, and while losing the forward would be a huge blow, it appears a significant bid could force their hands.
Should the unnamed club come in with improved personal terms and are offering Champions League football and a chance to win regular silverware, Richarlison could be keen on leaving.
Manager Rafa Benitez would not be keen on cashing in on such an influential player, but the opportunity to inject much-needed cash into the squad and bring in his own players is likely to be appealing.
With less than a week left in the transfer window, the Toffees need to quickly make up their mind.
They have to bring in a quality replacement if they opt to cash in on the Brazilian this late, and that could prove to be a herculean task with most clubs hardly in the mood to do business during the closing days of the transfer window.
